About the Role
About the role
You will collect samples, run them on the analysers, and enter the results in the lab system. A pathologist signs off every report.
The lab runs about 400 samples a day across biochemistry, haematology and microbiology.
Walk-in interview
Bring your DMLT or B.Sc certificate, your registration and a photo ID. The practical test takes about 30 minutes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood and other samples from patients gently and correctly
- Label and log every sample so it can never be mixed up
- Run tests on the biochemistry and haematology analysers
- Do the daily quality control run before patient samples
- Enter results into the lab system and flag critical values at once
- Keep the lab clean and dispose of waste as per the rules
Requirements
- DMLT or B.Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology
- One to four years in a pathology lab
- You know how to handle a critical value and who to call
- Careful with labelling and record keeping
- Ready for a rotating shift
