About the Role
About the role
You will work in the general ward or the ICU, based on your experience. Shifts are eight hours and the roster is published two weeks in advance.
The hospital has 180 beds. Each ward has a nurse in charge, so you always have someone senior on the floor with you.
Shifts
Morning, evening and night. Night shift carries an extra allowance. We do not ask for double shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Give medicine and injections exactly as the doctor has written
- Record vitals for every patient on your shift and flag any change at once
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist the doctor
- Keep the nursing notes complete and readable
- Explain care instructions to the patient family in simple language
- Hand over clearly to the next shift
Requirements
- GNM or B.Sc Nursing
- Valid state nursing council registration
- One to five years in a hospital ward or ICU
- Comfortable with night shifts on a rotation
- Calm with anxious families
