About the Role
About the role
You will work in our security operations centre. You watch the alert queue, you decide what is real, and you take action on the real ones.
We protect 30 client networks. Most incidents are phishing, credential misuse and unpatched servers.
Shift
The SOC runs 24 hours. You will do a rotating shift, including one night week in four. Night weeks carry an allowance.
Key Responsibilities
- Watch the SIEM alert queue and triage every alert within the agreed time
- Investigate real incidents end to end and write the incident report
- Run monthly vulnerability scans and follow up on the fixes
- Check firewall and endpoint policy across client networks
- Help clients respond to phishing and account takeover cases
- Keep the playbooks up to date after every incident
Requirements
- Two to five years in security operations or network security
- Hands-on with a SIEM such as Splunk, Wazuh or Sentinel
- You understand the common attack patterns and the MITRE framework
- Linux and Windows command line comfort
- CEH, Security+ or an equivalent certification is a plus
